This project focused on a comprehensive white oak floor finishing process within a newly renovated residential space. Initially, the wide-plank boards were sanded to a fine grit to ensure a uniform surface profile and optimal grain clarity. Furthermore, a specialized reactive stain was applied to achieve the muted, neutral tones requested for the design, effectively neutralizing the natural tannins of the wood. Consequently, the application of a high-traffic matte topcoat provided a durable barrier against wear while maintaining the raw, organic appearance of the timber. Ultimately, the work resulted in a sophisticated, balanced finish that enhances the natural light throughout the property.
